I haven't updated in over a month. Thats shameful. Part of my delay was that after my update, it would be nearly a week later that the framing would start.
So in the time of my last update the pole building got finished! Steve was able to move into his own space with all his things in one place on Saturday the 25th. He was a very happy man. The floor heat tubing got installed 22nd and the concrete slab for the house poured on the 24th.
On September 4th, the framing began! Oh what an incredible day that was. I can envision a design of a room, colors blending, family snuggles - but trying to envision the size of the room, the wall dimensions? No, thats best left to the professionals such as much husband. It was amazing to see this space of ours start to really take shape. For reference, the front of the house on the left is the two car garage. Front door will be positioned to the right of the house with a lovely porch [porch TBD]
A close up of the back wall of the house. The largest opening is my french doors. I drool every time I look at them. A window to either side is in the living space. Farthest to the right is one of the master bedroom windows.
Its an odd thing to me, but apparently engineered; all of the interior, exterior walls get set before the roof trusses come in.

Next up roof trusses, September 19th! It's undecidedly much more difficult to get a photo of roof trusses. But there is the house with the trusses set. They also started to "dry in" the house, per the green sheetwood type thing. Proper contractor lingo.
One the roof trusses were set they put to "dry in" the roof as well.
It occurred to me the other night that I had no photos of the back of the house. So I snapped one quick
We're definitely at the point in the project that its much harder to update with photos. There's so many other things getting done as well. Steve and I took a Sunday morning to go out and lay out all the electrical outlets I deemed necessary and he willingly agreed to. A struggle when we came to outside plugs for Christmas lights, ha. All in good fun and I got my upper wall outdoor plugs. It's been Saturdays of work for Steve and our friend the contractor to get things going. I know that the rough in Electrical is done, and passed inspection. As soon as the house is completely dried in (i.e. windows, doors, roof etc) we'll be good to go to get our power hooked up.
We may just be on track for New Years after all. Time will tell though.
